Blackberry Storm 9520 Review
The Blackberry Storm 9520, aka Storm 2, came to the market aiming to restore the shoddy image of its younger brother the original storm handset. The original storm was seen as somewhat of a coup for Vodafone, a competitor for the i phone and an option for those wishing to have a phone as stylish and powerful but wanting to stay on the Vodafone network.
Initially the consumers responded as the handset flew off the shelves and Vodafone struggled to keep up with the demands placed upon them. However it wasnt long before the consumer started to realise the storm was nothing like the i phone, in fact not only was it nothing like it but it didnt even work!! That said, this is a review for the storm 9520 so we wont dwell on the faults of the previous handset.

The Blackberry Storm 2 appears, at a glance, to have many of the characteristics of the original storm. It is the same size but weighs in slightly heavier at 160g, outweighing the original Storm by 5g. There is a touchscreen that is the same and a 3.25″ TFT display screen which supports up to 65,000 colours and has a resolution of 480 x 360 pixels.
There are improvements in the screen itself however as data is entered in a much improved way, using BlackBerrys SurePress technology. On the original Storm the display screen was mounted on a type of gel pack which clicked in with each press. With the Storm 2 there has been an overhaul of the design and although it still feels like you are clicking a button, when making a request via the screen, the corners of the screen are operated on a sensitive electro mechanical system which gives users a much improved performance.
Key features of the Storm2 9520 smartphone are the next generation SurePress technology, previously mentioned, which allows you to type on a virtual QWERTY keyboard in either portrait or landscape modes and enjoy better accuracy and a more natural feel. Other key features are Wi FI support, high speed network connectivity, high resolution display on the screen, email access, camera and video as well as all basic call and messaging functions including call switching etc.
